Hello Students! I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe! 


As stated yesterday during our MS Teams Call, I am uploading additional assignments that you can work on.

These assignments are related to Figurative Language.

SOL Strand 8.4 The student will apply knowledge of word origins, and figurative language to extend vocabulary development within authentic texts.
a) Identify and analyze the construction and impact of an author’s use of figurative language. 

I will upload the assignments TO MY WEBPAGE under "Files and Documents", under Figurative Language Folder AND in MICROSOFT TEAMS under "Files". 

The assignments are numbered in the order in which you should complete them, including PowerPoints and Worksheets. 
So, what do you need to do?

1. Work on the first set of worksheets sent out (on the school webpage)

2. Read "The Giver" and complete the questions that go with it.

3. Work on the second set of worksheets sent out (uploaded to school webpage AND MS Teams).

Please check your email with some updated information. 

1. YOU WILL BE READING THE NOVEL, "The Giver". 

Students, under "Files and Documents", you will see two files added. THIS IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. 

- One document is the electronic version of the book, "The Giver"

- The second document is your assignment/questions that follows each chapter. You are to complete this as you read. Let me know if there are any questions. 


2.  I am asking each student to make sure that they can access "Clever".

- Log in as a student (upper right corner)
- Search for our school 
- Log in with Office 365

I will add assignments over next weeks and months as additional work.

Hello Students and Parents! I hope and pray that all is well with you and your families during this time. As we navigate through "distance/virtual learning", I will be uploading assignments to this page.  I will also email all parents and students when work is updated.  

We will make it through these uncertain times. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. 



My goal is to upload two novels along with questions that go with each novel.  The questions will reiterate the strands that we have covered so far this year.  I will also upload web links that will keep students engaged in nonfiction text.

I have uploaded five (5) documents under "Files and Documents" to get you started with some assignments.

I am not sure if or how grading will take place, but please keep your work for the time being. 

Please be on the lookout for the novels and work that will accompany it.
