    HI everyone,

I hope you and your families are safe and healthy!

    UPDATE (4/15):

We a scheduled Zoom meeting tomorrow
Apr 16, at 08:30 AM.  Check your email to see the username/password details.

Tomorrow we will discuss the new procedures and assignments moving forward.  If you are not able to join us, I will still leave an assignment that you can begin to work on.  This situation is still new to all of us and we're trying to figure things out so that you all may continue to learn and exercise your mind.

If you have any questions, please email me.

    UPDATE 4/16/2020

Here's a project that I'd like you to work on; use your interactive notebooks, if you don't have access to that, use the notes that are directly from my class page. Use only what you have access to in your homes!  Do not take unnecessary trips to the store for materials to complete this project.

    Survivor – First American Style!

Standard USI.3b and USI 3c:  The student will demonstrate knowledge of how early cultures developed in North America by locating where the American Indians lived and describing how the American Indians used the resources in their environment.

Could you survive without electricity?  A cell phone?  A computer?  You have just been chosen to be on a new reality show called Survivor – First American Style!  The object of this show is to test your skills when forced to live as part of an early tribe in North America.  How will you find food?  How will you build a shelter and what kind of clothes will you wear?  How will the geography and climate affect the way you will meet your basic needs?  What kinds of natural, capital, and human resources will you use?

Your adventure begins after you answer a few basic questions:

    1. Which region will you select for your new life? (Arctic, Northwest Coast, Southwest, Great Plains, or Eastern Woodlands.) ______________________________________________________________
    2. Which American Indian tribe will you join?(Remember, the tribe you select must match the region you select.)______________________________________________________________
    3. Will you be a tribe of one or will you form an alliance (work with a partner)?______________________________________________________________
    4. Choose how you will share your adventure with your teacher and classmates: (Select one only.)
      1. Create a power point or Prezi presentation
      2. Create a tri-fold board display
      3. Create a movie (windows media player compatible)
      4. Create a museum display
      5. Write a newspaper
      6. Present your own idea to your teacher
